What Psychotherapy and Counselling can help with
People may turn to therapy when they are stressed, confused, experiencing a crisis in their lives, having difficulties in relationships or are feeling depressed. Some of the problems psychotherapy can help with include:
Sometimes when people begin therapy they are not clear what they want or may be feeling confused about what the difficulties are. You are not expected to begin with answers! You will have plenty opportunity to explore the difficulties without being judged, no matter how big, small or intangible your problems feel.
How Psychotherapy and Counselling can help
I provide a supportive and confidential environment in which you can explore your experiences. These may be long standing difficulties in your life, or specific problems you are currently experiencing.
Psychotherapy is a journey of self-discovery that can enable a greater sense of connectedness, acceptance, value and purpose in life.
Counselling can help you to gain new perspectives and greater self-understanding that enable you to work towards living in a more satisfying and resourceful way.
We begin with an initial session to explore how therapy can help, what you are hoping to gain and to clarify the appropriate route for you. We will also review the sessions on a regular basis. Sessions are usually arranged on an ongoing weekly basis. I work individually with adults and young people, as well as with groups.
